Cannot push to Flywheel - Error: write EPIPE

#1

Hi,

I’m having tons of difficulty pushing to Flywheel. I’m getting an Error: write EPIPE after the files have been compressed and the files start uploading.

Running:
macOS 10.14.3
Local 3.0.4

local-by-flywheel.log (217.6 KB)

Also, when I try to compress the site and create a new site via a Zip upload, Local says that it can’t do that operation.

Any help is appreciated

Hey @ryansmiller

Thanks for your patience with this!

Looking at the Local log, I notice that the error looks like this:

Feb 20, 2019, 10:26 PM EST - error: [PusherFlywheel]
{ statusCode: 400,
  body:
   '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>\n<Error><Code>EntityTooLarge</Code><Message>Your proposed upload exceeds the maximum allowed size</Message><ProposedSize>7129217741</ProposedSize><MaxSizeAllowed>5368709120</MaxSizeAllowed><RequestId>0F380838970716AC</RequestId><HostId>r8wHkJHVPR4S2NTAZi44xXJRoaYG9V44sEBGe9VVaZzA5YQ8hVVyjBtktVhvVEaEP33iXZt2utU=</HostId></Error>' }
Feb 20, 2019, 10:37 PM EST - error: [PusherFlywheel]
{ message: 'write EPIPE',
  stack:
   'Error: write EPIPE\n at WriteWrap.afterWrite [as oncomplete] (net.js:833:14)',
  errno: 'EPIPE',
  code: 'EPIPE',
  syscall: 'write' }

Note that just before the EPIPE error is a message like this:

<Error><Code>EntityTooLarge</Code><Message>Your proposed upload exceeds the maximum allowed size</Message>

In general the EPIPE error deals with issues writing data to a disk. In this specific case of pushing a site to Flywheel’s servers, there is a limit to the size of the zip backup file that can be uploaded. That limit is 5Gb which means that sites that are larger than this will need to be manually deployed to the server.

Hope that helps answer the question. Let me know if you need anything else!
