Changed Mac root directory

Hi there!

I changed the name of my root directory (for an unrelated reason, long story…), but now my existing local sites are broken, since they’re trying to access the old root name. Is there any fix?

Thanks!

Can you just start a new site in Flywheel and use that name/path?
I am wondering if and how you solved this.

Hi there! A couple options would be to either change the name back to the original name or you can use the Volumes addon in the Addons library (puzzle piece icon) within Local. The Volumes addon allows you to remap existing mounts if you wish to relocate your Local sites to another directory or drive on your computer.

@dumdumdev, no, unfortunately that doesn’t work because flywheel won’t allow you to have two installs with the same name/folder.

@keegan is there any documentation for using the Volumes add on? I have it installed, but can’t figure out how to remap the mount.

If the new location is under /Users/ folder the Volumes addon should solve your problem and allow you to remap the paths to the new location.

There will be local paths on the left and on the right the mount point in the container.

You can browse each paths on the left and chose the same folder in the new location.

I don’t see the mount point on the right - this is what I’m seeing for one of these sites.

There is another issue here clearly the container is missing, the two fields appear when you click add volume and should look like this .
