How can I manually update VirtualBox?

#1

In some cases such as major operating system updates, VirtualBox may need to be manually updated or installed.

Here’s how:

  1. Quit Local if it’s running
  2. Download the latest version of VirtualBox
    • If you’re on Windows, select “Windows Hosts”
    • If you’re on macOS, select “OS X Hosts”
  3. Run the downloaded installer
    • Updating VirtualBox does not remove any existing VMs or Local data.
  4. Re-open Local
