How to Upload a Single File (header.php) Back to Flywheel

My apologies for this simple question, but I searched the threads and could not find an explanation on how to do this. I am a 5 year old by the way, so step by step is crucial hahaha.

I downloaded my site from Flywheel to LocalbyFlywheel. I changed some of the code in the header.php file and saved the changes. I can not for the life of me figure out how to upload that single file (header.php) back to the live site, let alone get it to the right directory.

This should be a simple process and I feel a little embarrassed asking this but I am now very desperate.

Thank you all for your patience, Matt

Hopefully I can help you out here.

Do you know if you used Local Connect to download your Flywheel site? If you did, you could simply “Push” your site on Local back to Flywheel. Here is some more information about Local connect: https://getflywheel.com/wordpress-support/connect-to-flywheel/.

If you did not use Local Connect, you could use sftp to upload that file to the lives site on Flywheel. Here is a help doc on sftp with Flywheel https://getflywheel.com/wordpress-support/how-do-i-access-my-site-via-sftp/.

There are other options for you, but these might be the most “straight forward” ways for you. Let me know how it goes. If you have further questions, let us know too.
